Beauty Product of the Week: Tom Ford Shanghai Lily Eau De Parfum

Tom Ford Shanghai Lily Eau De Parfum
Confession time, I've been wearing Vera Wang Princess as my go-to perfume for a very long time. Occasionally I will wear Viktor and Rolf Flowerbomb but every so often I take a walk into Sephora and end up leaving overwhelmed and sneezing from trying out too many odours.

On a quick trip into Holt Renfrew atop the escalators was a row of Tom Ford perfumes, I tried to test out each bottle but the one that stuck out the most was the exotically named: Shanghai Lily.

The eau de parfum is a mixture of warm spices, elegant florals, and hints of vanilla and frankincense. Needless to say, I'm still thinking about it and may make it my signature scent.

Do you have a signature scent? Its important to remember certain smells will mix with your own skin to create a truly unique experience.

The Golden Globes Best Dressed: Tom Ford

You're right! Tom Ford was not in attendance last night, although I wish he was for a few reasons. The 2014 Golden Globes aired last night, Tina Fey and Amy Poehler did funny women everywhere proud and once again were wonderful hosting the show.

Highlight of my night: Andy Samberg winning Best Actor in a Television Series - Comedy or Musical for Brooklyn Nine-Nine and Brooklyn Nine-Nine winning Best Comedy Series. The show is one of my favourites and it is seriously funny, it truly deserves the recognition it received last night!

Now the fun part, who was best dressed? Well for starters, and I know I am not alone on this one, I felt that there was more bad than good on the red carpet, but of course this is all a matter of opinion. Also, I've watched every episode of Project Runway and Project Runway: All Stars so I feel as if I've picked up how to properly critique a la Michael Kors and Nina Garcia.

My best dressed top three include two red carpet newbies: Margot Robbie from Wolf of Wall Street Lupita Nyong'o from Twelve Years a Slave, and the always radiant Olivia Wilde. Margo was a vision in Gucci white, Lupita rocked a cape by Ralph Lauren which has not been done since Gwyneth wore the white Tom Ford number, and Olivia shone bright like an emerald in a Gucci dress.

SAG Awards Best Dressed Edition: Katrina Bowden

On the road to the Oscars we stopped last night to honour both TV and film actors and actresses at the 19th annual Screen Actors Guild Awards. The award ceremony may be more laid back than they others but that doesn't mean anyone skimped out on the outfits.

My award for Best Dressed at the 2013 SAG Awards goes to Katrina Bowden. Although Modern Family beat out 30 Rock for Outstanding Performance by an Ensemble in a Comedy Series, Katrina was a top contender for best dressed on many lists thanks to her stylist and Badgley Mischka.

I know I usually don't give props to the Golden boys of Hollywood but I had no choice after seeing Mr. Bradley Cooper in Tom Ford last night. I believe he deserves an award for his role in Silver Linings Playbook but in the meantime he will just have to settle for an award from this girl right here!
